The Utah Jazz is a professional basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah.The franchise began in 1974.The Jazz were one of the most unsuccessful teams in the league in their early years, and it would be 10 years before they made a playoff appearance (in 1984). As of 2010, the Jazz are the only team in the Big Four sports leagues located in the state of Utah.
